Alumna Dr. Susanne Rinner (PhD, 2003) Receives AATG Friend of German Award
German Department alumna and Associate Professor of German at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, Susanne Rinner (Ph.D. 2003) received the AATG Friend of German Award at this year’s annual convention of the American Association of Teachers of German in Orlando, Florida.
There was a host of Georgetown alumni at the convention and many helped Susanne celebrate this national award. Among them Jonathan Gajdos (COL 2001 in German, now professor at Monterey Defense Language Institute), Deborah Mifflin (Johns Hopkins), Michael Sosulski (an SFS alumnus, who found his true calling as a professor of German at Kalamazoo College), Cori Crane (University of Texas, Austin), Olga Liamkina (Goethe Institute, New York), Peter Weise (MIT), and our friend and esteemed former colleague Hiram Maxim (Emory).
