German Department Welcomes New Faculty Member Dr. Joe Cunningham

Faculty and students are delighted that Joe Cunningham joins the Department this fall as Assistant Professor of German in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition. He earned his PhD at the University of Kansas, where his dissertation research examined the development of requesting behavior in learners of German for professional purposes.  Dr. Cunningham’s research focuses on telecollaborative exchange, interlanguage pragmatic development, task-based teaching and learning, and teacher education.
