These last five years at Georgetown have been formative for me both professionally and personally. I started in the department in 2019 after having not spoken much German since graduating with my Bachelor’s in 2014. While there have been many ups and downs in my life since then (for example, the global pandemic that changed the world during my second semester), my favorite experience has to be teaching for the Georgetown-at-Trier program in summer 2022. I am honored to have been part of such a long-standing partnership between Georgetown and Uni Trier while exploring a part of Germany I had never visited previously.

While I do not know what exactly is next for me professionally yet, my Georgetown experience has made me into the person I am today, and I am confident that it will inform the rest of my life in some way, shape, or form. I am excited for my next adventure, and I am beyond lucky to have my wonderful boyfriend by my side through everything. I could not be more grateful for my time in the GUGD and all the friends and colleagues I met along the way.
