German Department Speaker Series: German Scholars in the DC Area

Please join the German Department on Friday, March 17 at 3:00 pm as we host Dr. Jonathan Skolnik, presenting Jewish Pasts, German Fictions: Historical Fiction, Minority Culture and National Identity.

Jonathan Skolnik is Associate Professor of German at UMass Amherst, where he is Interim Director of the Institute for Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies. He is the author of Jewish Pasts, German Fictions (Stanford, 2014) and recent articles on writers and filmmakers including Fritz Lang, Kafka, Paul Celan, and Edgar Ulmer. He is President of the North American Heine Society.
