Congratulations to Cindy Strizak (MSB’22), recipient of the Award for College Minors from the German Society of Maryland!

The German Department is delighted to congratulate Cindy Strizak (MSB’22, German minor) for receiving the prestigious Award for College Minors by the German Society of Maryland. In her prize-winning German-language essay, Cindy reflected on the link between her Ukrainian roots and her study of German language and culture at Georgetown University. The Award comes with a $500 cash prize which Cindy plans to use for a long-delayed visit to Germany. The Award ceremony will take place at the German Embassy in DC. Cindy started her language journey with Introductory German in her first year at GU and concluded it this semester, as a senior, with courses on the most advanced level. Cindy was nominated by Prof. Astrid Weigert.
