Faculty-in-Residence Program
As Reynolds Hall’s new Faculty-in-Residence in Fall 2025, Prof. Verena Kick engaged roughly 200 residents through programs that blended reflection, culture, and community. The semester began with a Welcome Pancake Breakfast and a Home @ Home Photo Walk, inviting students to explore the Georgetown neighborhood through the lens of self-awareness. Together with Kennedy Hall FIR Jennifer Boum Make, she co-hosted Language Tables in German, Arabic, and French, fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
Highlights included a film screening of Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest (2023) with pizza in the Healey Family Student Center, a Great British Bake Off watch party, and a visit to the National Gallery of Art, where students discussed favorite works over lunch.
Looking ahead, Dr. Kick plans spring events such as an Austrian Afternoon at Kafe Leopold, a cozy Swiss fondue night, and a potential Frühlingsfest collaboration with the German Club—continuing to build a welcoming, intercultural community in Reynolds Hall.
