Sally Simpson received her Bachelor of Arts in German Studies from Colby College in 2021. After graduating, she lived in Linz, Austria, where she participated in the 2021-2022 Teaching Assistantship Program of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF), administered by Fulbright Austria (Austrian-American Educational Commission).
In 2026, she received the Paul Michael Luetzeler Dissertation Grant through the American Friends of Marbach at the Deutsches Literaturarchiv to conduct research on her dissertation project. While at Georgetown, she also served from 2024-2026 as the graduate student representative to the German Department faculty. Her research interests include sound and music, 20th century German and Austrian literature, space and place, and Life Writing.
