German Department in the News
The Georgetown University German Department is excited to be mentioned in a November 10th article in the New York Times, which featured several events held on campus and organized by the department during the week leading up to the 30th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
We hosted a very popular week of events, including a talk with Michael Mucchetti on witnessing the fall of the wall in 1989, the BLITZslam conference of student presentations on the topic of walls, a replica Berlin Wall built in Red Square, and a Tear Down This Wall! cake party with a replica Berlin Wall cake.
Congratulations to Professors Astrid Weigert and Anja Banchoff for all their hard work making this week a success!
